Blackjack Myths!!!!

Most blackjack players are so poorly prepared for their sorties into casino land that blackjack makes more money for the casinos than any other table game. Stupid players think that they cab beat the game because they have heard or read somewhere that brilliant players have done so. So they play and loose. Brilliant players, on the other hand, never tire of warning neophytes to be careful and not expect too much too soon, that blackjack is a roller coaster. Indeed blackjack is a roller coaster even if you have an edge because during any stretch of time luck can be the key variable in determining your fate at the tables.

The basic strategy for both single and multiple-deck blackjack games cannot give you an edge over the casino. At the best you can play even or almost even in a single-deck game, and face a 0.35% to 0.61% house edge in multiple-deck games, depending on the number of decks and the rules. Basic strategy is the best way to play, except for card counting, but it cannot give you a long range advantage over the casino. Basic strategy can only make you a tough player, a good player, and a non-sucker. A good basic-strategy player can even get the best to it, if he includes comps in his figuring, but it’s unlikely playing basic strategy alone will give him an edge.
